THE PROBLEM WE FACE

Annually, 4-6 billion pounds of carpet enters the American waste stream. Approximately 90% of this post-consumer carpet is buried in landfills, 5% of waste carpet is incinerated and less than 5% is recycled. While most manufacturers have a take-back program, no one has yet figured out a viable and market-based strategy to demo and reclaim post-consumer commercial carpet at the scale needed to divert this material from landfills and incinerators in a meaningful way.
